Happy Summer in Carlsbad

Happy 1st Day of Summer from Carlsbad

It's the first day of summer in Carlsbad, as it is elsewhere in the Northern Hemisphere, and while our weather doesn't reflect that - we have a heavy case of our June Gloom today - there are plenty of signs of my favorite season.

Carlsbad beaches

More visitors, more parking challenges, longer waits at restaurants, more people out shoppng and wandering the streets, the beaches are busier even on cloudy days, schools are out, and there is a growing list of things to do - outdoor movies, free live outdoor music on Fridays in the Village, the TGIF Concerts in the Parks are starting tomorrow night, the Art in the Village is coming soon, and the 4th of July holiday is right around the corner.

That also means my annual tradition - a switch in my profile photo to my summer look.
