Cardiff Surf Classic and Rerip Greenfest in Cardiff on September 18 and 19, 2011
The Cardiff Surf Classic will be held the weekend of September 18 and 19, and in conjunction with the Rerip Organization – Reduce, Reuse, Reride – will offer a 2-day festival focused on environmental awareness and education.
The Cardiff Surf Classic and Rerip Green Fest will take place at Cardiff Seaside Beach and reef both days from 8 am until 5 pm, co-sponsored by the Cardiff 101 Main Street organization and Rerip.
The Rerip Organization was founded by surfers for surfers, with a mission is “to create accountability, measurability and sustainability in the surf industry.”
In addition to education Rerip offers surfers the opportunity to sell or recycle old surfboards and equipment.
The Cardiff Surf Classic and Rerip Green Fest will offer a host of vendors and individuals involved in promoting sustainability in the surfing industry through a variety of products and services.
There will also be businesses, government agencies and non-profits involved in a wide range environment-related industries (food and agriculture,, architecture, building materials, energy and conservation) showcasing their products and services.
Musical entertainment on a solar powered stage, activities for kids, plenty of food and of course a fun surf contest round out a perfect beach event.
