We are all in need of some good news, and I have been hearing more and more of late.
No, we cannot say the market is normal or has recovered, nor have the short sales and foreclosures disappeared. People are still losing their homes, experiencing problems paying their bills, and losing jobs (a good friend back East just got laid off yesterday). The news is still bad in many areas.
But I am hearing good news from lots of folks out here - fellow agents, inspectors, mortgage officers, attendees at the recent REBar Camp Los Angeles.

I also just posted an article that was an expression of my personal frustration with the fact that the media seems to be clueless about what is going on in the market, at least as far as the good news. And more importantly, take a look through the many comments thus far from AR folks around the country which are also testimony to plenty of good news in certain segments of the market and in different areas - multiple offers, for one.

So why NOT have a group where we can ALL post the good news we are hearing AND seeing, and also report the news in our market reports. Consumers deserve to know what is actually happneing out there in local real estate markets rather than reading the doom and gloom media headlines. Maybe the news is NOT all good, but ignoring what is does a disservice to the public. They need to make decisions and we are the folks who can provide the information, good and bad, so they can make informed choices.
No doubt the media will start catching on as word of the good things happening in the market become more mainstream. In the meantime, we have a great opportunity to spread the word in real time.
Are you in? If so please join the Real Estate Good News group and start sharing the good news.
Perhaps it will also insprie you to LOOK for the good news to share.
