Carlsbad Crest is a complex of 260 townhouse condos along Paseo Del Norte on the hill overlooking the ocean (less than 1 mile); because of the location some of the townhomes have views. Some agents advertise these homes as being walking distance to the ocean; while that is true it is a pretty ambitious walk, and uphill all the way back.
Carlsbad Crest townhomes have a Cape Cod look surrounded by trees and green space; there are two pools, a BBQ area, room for boat and RV parking, and a sp/hot tub. These homes were built in 1985/1986 and all feature 2 bedrooms and either 1/5 or 2 full baths, with private patios and parking. These Carlsbad homes range in size from about 1020 SF up to about 1342 SF on two floors.
There are no Mello Roos but residents pay HOA fees of approximately $225 per month (this should be verified). Children will attend the Carlsbad Schools
Currently there are 2 Carlsbad Crest condos on the market priced at $369,000 (2 bedroom and 1 ½ baths) and at $445,000 (both are real, not distress, sales).
The Carlsbad Crest townhomes are very popular and do not come on the market often. Indeed only 4 have sold this year so far, and only 4 sold last year. Because of their location they are good for second homes and as investment properties. As noted, the beaches are close, as is shopping, and you are a short distance from the 5 freeway down the hill.
