ArtWalk Carlsbad was September 22 and 23, 2018
The Inaugural ArtWalk Carlsbad – a brand new arts festival – took place yesterday and today on Armada Drive on the hill above the Carlsbad Flower Fields and overlooking the ocean.
ArtWalk Carlsbad was created by ArtWalk San Diego, the same group that produces the Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy and the ArtWalk @ Liberty Square.
ArtWalk Carlsbad was a big hit, judging by the crowds, with chalk art creations from 50 chalk artists, and art works by over 100 local, regional and international artists in a broad range of media – glass, photography, sculpture, oil painting, jewelry, metal work, wood work and more.
Several food trucks were there – Mangia Mangia, Epic Eats – as well as other food vendors, along with a wine and beer pavilion, live music throughout both days, and 2 interactive art stations.
Tickets were available online or at the entrance gate ($10/per for each day with a $2 facility fee, or a Weekend Pass for 1 person at $15. Kids 16 and under were free). The other cool thing is that the admission tickets also allowed free admission to the Carlsbad Museum of Making Music adjacent to ArtWalk Carlsbad during the art festival.
