All About the Carlsbad Farmers Market in Carlsbad Village

The Carlsbad Farmers Market

Carlsbad Farmers MarketThe Carlsbad Farmers Market, also known as the State Street Farmers Market, is a regular event in Carlsbad, happening every week on WEDNESDAY in downtown Carlsbad Village along State Street.

The market is set up in the street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue, with rows of vendors on each site of the street.

And of course all the retailers and eateries on the street are open too, so it becomes quite a shopping expedition. The Italian Market sometimes has freebies to try!

In the winter months, with shorter days, the Carlsbad Farmers Market is open from 3 to 6 pm, but from roughly late March to the beginning of November the market runs from 3 until 7 pm. A couple of years ago or so there were 2 markets each week but that was overkill.

Mime at State Street Farmers Market in Carlsbad VillageThe Carlsbad Farmers Market is sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association and offers multiple produce vendors (I recommend you do your comparison shopping and also check that produce is not only organic, if not noted, but pesticide free).

You will also find about 2 dozen packaged specialty food vendors, 6 prepared/cooked food vendors, and usually 4 – 6 crafts booths, plus live entertainment (e.g., the Mime I saw last Fall).

And of course there are plenty of people shopping as well.

We have always had good success with the foods and produce although you cannot expect the produce to always be less expensive than in the grocery stores…but it certainly is fresher.

According to the website as of January 2018 they are full up with vendors, but anyone interested should send an email to info@Carlsbad-Village.com about their product(s) and where they are currently selling.
