Las Playas is located off of Batiquitos Drive at Poinsettia, close to the 5 freeway. The Poinsettia Coaster (commuter rail) station is less than a mile away, as is shopping, several restaurants, and other services. Folks who need to commute have several major roads to use, including the freeway and the coast road. Carlsbad Village is about 10 minutes to the north with plenty of shopping and dining opportunities.
Located barely a mile from Carlsbad State Beach, the attractive condos at Las Playas were built in the 1980s and offer 2 and 3 bedroom units with 2 or 2.5 baths. Most are townhomes but there are some single story units; the complex has approximately 390 units. Sizes range from about 1000 SF up to 1478 SF and units come with detached garages. The complex offers a large swimming pool, tennis courts, and is close to parks (the Carlsbad TGIF Jazz in the Park series holds several free concerts at a local park not far away).
Children in this complex attend the Carlsbad Schools. Residents pay HOA fees of about $200/month but these do vary by unit and should be verified. This is a pleasant neighborhood on gently rollins hills, wtih winding tree-lined street, widewalks, and ample parking for guests.
Currently there are 3 Carlsbad condos for sale at Las Playas ranging in price from $349,000 to $429,000 (both 2 and 3 bedroom units) with either 1292 or 1478 SF of living space.
