Cannon Art Gallery Spring 2012 Exhibit –
The Exquisite Garden with Joe Brubaker in Carlsbad CA

What an aptly named exhibit this spring at the Cannon Art Gallery in Carlsbad!
The Exquisite Garden, featuring Joe Brubaker and 18 colleagues who hail from the greater San Francisco area, is a stunning installation collection of found and discarded objects and materials with wood sculptures by Brubaker.
The interior walls of the gallery are gone. Instead, a step in the door leads to a magical visual and audio creation that first takes one by surprise, but almost immediately draws you in to explore and enjoy, to relax and contemplate.
One immediately recognizes objects, or something similar, seen discarded at the dump, in a barn, along a street, or washed up on the beach.
The Exquisite Garden took 6 days to create and assemble. While some of it was planned, it is, indeed, a unique creation, never to be seen again in this form. One can easily spend hours exploring the intricacies of the many objects and materials in familiar, and unfamiliar forms. Objects as they were found, and others created.
You WILL be transformed by a visit to The Exquisite Garden at the city-owner Cannon Art Gallery in Carlsbad.
I always enjoy, and appreciate, the artistry displayed at the Cannon Art Gallery. The Exquisite Garden exhibit took my breath way!!
