A Green Car Rental Company - Greenleaf Rent A Car in Carlsbad CA
I learned some pretty interesting news today when I took my car in for its 60K mile check at North County Hyundai in Carlsbad.
They are paying for a rental (normal for longer servicing) but what was really intriguing and progressive was they are using Greenleaf Rent A Car in Carlsbad for their customers.
Greenleaf Rent A Car is the first of its kind in the industry - I believe. The focus is on being as green as possible in the car rental industry. It's an admirable undertaking and I personally hope it really takes off.
Greenleaf Rent A Car is testing the market here in Carlsbad to start and hope to branch out soon to another San Diego location and perhaps Orange County.
Here's the scoop - Greenleaf Rent A Car rents out hybrid vehicles and environmentally friendly cars (mine is in the photo) that get at least 30 mpg. That's great for the environment, emissions (i.e., pollution reduction), and gas costs for the consumer.
They use recycled products wherever possible, too.
Here are some other things to know about Greenleaf Rent A Car:
- They rent to folks 21 or older (many companies only rent to age 25+)
- They rent to folks paying cash (many companies will only rent if you have a credit card)
- Rates are low, starting at $29.99/day
- Military Discounts
- International Driving Permits are accepted
- They offer unlimited mileage programs
- Direct bill insurance companies and third parties.
And their service thus far has been stellar. And that means a lot in my book. They picked me up, called me 2 minutes after I left the office to let me know I had left the rental agreement, answered the phone promptly when I called to extend the rental time AND called a few minutes later once they had confirmed with North County Hyundai.
