It’s a Marine-Layer Day in Carlsbad…Again
The fall weather has brought more of the marine layer here in Carlsbad. We’ve hardly seen the sun near the coast for several days.
It hasn’t just been the marine layer with gray skies but it has included the ground fog – quite heavy in some areas. You can see it rolling in and moving across the ground.
I was out in San Elijo Hills in San Marcos yesterday showing property (where it was sunny) and took the time to go to the top of Double Peak Park. The 360-degree views from the highest point in North San Diego County are amazing, and particularly interesting when you are above the marine layer as I was yesterday.
There were some peeks of blue sky back at my house for a short time but then the marine layer rolled in again. And it’s back today, but starting to clear at my house. In fact in the time it took to write and post this the sky over my house cleared and the sun is shining...but the marine layer hangs on just a mile or less west.
My bet is the fog will roll in again later this afternoon. It reminds me of the weather on Cape Cod, especially in the fall.
