BluWater Crossing in Carlsbad CA | Update on Complex - Now Rentals Only
I wrote several articles in early and mid 2009 about this new and exciting loft-style development, BluWater Crossing, in Carlsbad near the beach and Poinsettia Train Station.

I have received a number of calls and emails about this complex from interested buyers, in particular people looking for live-work space and wanted to pass along an update as of 9/2/10.
BluWater Crossing ceased to become available for purchase early last fall since no sales occurred - no homes actually closed because an insufficient number were in escrow and a minimum of 6 were needed to close in order for sales to continue.
The units were taken off the market and the sales office closed. The complex was later purchased by a different developer and homes are now set up as rental properties; the complex opened for renting in April 2010.
Currently there are only 12 work-live homes (3 levels) available to rent, ranging from 2334 SF to 2770 SF, with rents from $2585/month up to $3175/month.
Security deposit is $1000, with pet deposits of $500 for cats (plus monthly rent of $50 per cat up to 2 max) and $750 for dogs (with a month rent of $50 per dog up to 2 max).
Income requirements - applicants' combined gross monthly income must be 3 X the monthly rent (for the least expensive rental, about $93,060 annually) with POI required within 24 hrs. of application.
There are 2 parking spaces per unit. Storage is available to rent at $1.50/SF.
