If you are seeking a great Encinitas sushi restaurant, Blue Fin Sushi in Encinitas California fits the bill in my book.
Blue Fin Sushi Restaurant is on the east side of El Camino Real in the shopping corridor just north of Encinitas Boulevard. The signage is, well, blue, so you can't miss it, despite being in a strip mall along with other restaurants and a variety of stores. Blue Fin Sushi was recommended to me some time ago and having been there several times now it's easy to see why this place is so popular. While you can walk in during the week, I highly recommend reservations for the weekend as this place, which is modest in size, gets jammed, whether you sit at a table or at the sushi bar (which holds, perhaps, 12 people).
The dinner menu is diverse, both with special sushi rolls (the Blue Fin Roll is outstanding) and regular offerings, but not one that taxes the brain with too many choices. The service is prompt and friendly, and as one would hope the food was terrific. Blue Fin Sushi is fairly minimalist in design with appealing colorful art work, unlike some places that seem to feel the more decorations and "stuff" the better. In my opinion the focus is on the artistry of the food, not the décor, and it works at Blue Fin Sushi.

Blue Fin Sushi is located at 257 El Camino Real Suite D&E in Encinitas California. They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30am-3:00pm (lunch) and 5:00pm-10:00pm (dinner), and on Sunday from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Closed Mondays. They offer a Happy Hour Tuesday through Thursday 5:00pm-6:00pm. 760-479-1555.
