I was in Washington, DC a couple of weeks ago for the NAR and CRS meetings, and spent a lot of time walking to and from the Metro at Dupont Circle to get from my hotel to the meetings.
I also had the opportunity to spend several hours with good friend and ace blogger, Pat Kennedy, touring some homes and neighborhoods during caravan.
Another fun activity was visiting the International Spy Museum with good friend Marlene Bridges, but photos were not allowed so you will just have to imagine. The International Spy Museum is well worth a visit and lots of fun.
What you get are rather random musings in photography - favorite places from my past life there, new discoveries, and images that simply caught my camera eye as I was walking around, all of which reminded me of why I like Washington, DC so much.

Jeff, this was especially fun for me to watch! Really nice shots!
I love D.C. It is a magnificent city. Reminds me so much of Paris on which, of course, it was modeled.
Pat - thanks. Not sure they really do the city justice but it was fun. Kinda random, but that's sometime how my brain works. LOL
Jeff
Jane - I agree. There are lots of similarities. Paris is probably my favorite city outside the US. I had lots of fun in addition to the meetings and work.
Jeff
These beautiful photos of DC make me want to drive over and take some of my own. Thanks for sharing.
Margaret
Hi Jeff- great photos and I sort of like the way they ramble. Sorry I was unable to get together with you guys when you were on this side of the world. Margaret Rome had called but I was booked. Anyway the next time you are on this side once again maybe you and Pat and... can slide down to Annapolis and do a side tour. On me and of course and anyone else who wants to come along :0)
Fantastic slide show Jeff, did Pat give you photo tips or was it the other way around? Grins! Thanks for sharing these. I have GOT to get to D.C. soon and now I know I must see the spy museum.
Margaret - and you should. I have no doubt they would be wonderful.
Martha - I wish we HAD been able to get together with you. Next year at NAR?
Thanks Vic. The Spy Museum was really great fun, especially the historical aspect - I would go again in a heart beat!Definitely a fun time and great learning experience. No tips from Pat BUT she did show me some great areas and we had such fun together.
Jeff
Great photo collage. I have not been to Washington, DC in like 30 years. I'm thinking I'd better get on the road.

Jeff - I was there a year ago on Memorial Day weekend. What an amazing city. I need to go back, there was not enough time to fully explore. Nice photos.
Maybe this should be a new Active Rain contest? A slideshow of your home town or the town you are visiting.
Jeff - It appears you had a great time. Loved the slideshow & the spy museum is now on my list to check out when I visit DC.
