A visit to the Glass Ranch in Escondido is MY idea of Black Friday.

And you still have time to enjoy it, too.
Their semi-annual open house with glass blowing demonstrations (VIDEO LINK to my vid on YouTube), beautiful glass creations (glasses, jewelry, bowls, vases, decorative items), and strolling through their magnificent gardens is a wonderful way to shop in a venue I suspect few have experienced.
Talented glass blowers Garry Cohen and Cherrie LaPorte are a delight and you will enjoy chatting with them about their love of glass blowing.
The open house continues for 2 more days
- TODAY, Saturday November 27th, from 11 until 4
- and then again on Sunday from 11 until 4. Don't miss this opportunity to experience an artistic venue that will enthrall you.
The Glass Ranch is located at 20307 Beech Lane just off Del Dios Highway in Escondido, a stone's throw from Lake Hodges.
The Glass Ranch owners' contemporary home and gardens on the hill surrounded by mountains in view of Lake Hodges makes the visit even more special.
Enjoy the photos AND a virtual walk through their gardens below.

Jeff, now this is a place I would really enjoy! As usual a great Localism post highlighting The Glass Ranch. Much more fun than the holiday shopping madness currently running riot everywhere else!
Jeff,
I always seem to gravitate toward glass blowers. Fascinating, but hot even being ten feet away. Man that looks dangerous.
Jeff, I love to watch glass blowers. We have a place nearby that I plan to do a post on soon.
Russell - yep, it's a pretty cool place and much more interesting than the malls.
Steven - it was pretty impressive. He made it looks fairly easy but I know that is NOT the case.
Rebecca - it's a fascinating art, isn't it?
Jeff
This looks like a great place. I will have to remember that when I am next in the area. Love those two pieces you featured.
On my trip to Esondido, the Glass Ranch is going to be at the top of my list of things to see. Wow!
Not nice Jeff ... this is twice you tempted us with the enchanted glass palace ...
Jane- they will allow visitors with appointments, I believe.
Pat - come on out.
Jack - well I now know the owners and like prpomoting their venue for them. Plus it's a great place.
Jeff
