Get Ready for Mother's Day at The Glass Ranch in Escondido Open House
The Glass Ranch in Escondido will be hosting its 16th semi-annual Open House Weekend on April 30 and May 1. As you know that's the weekend before Mother's Day, so what a great time to visit The Glass Ranch, tour their spectacular gardens filled with plants, flowers and art glass, enjoy the glass blowing demonstrations (see the video below), and do a little shopping...or a lot of shopping.
The Glass Ranch Open Houses and sales are very popular events - a wonderful celebration of artistry merging with nature, and a chance to see two very talented glass blowers, Cherrie LaPorte and Gary Cohen and their glass creations.
The Glass Ranch
Saturday & Sunday April 30/May 1 from 10 am until 4 pm
20307 Beech Lane, Escondido

Cathy Carey's Free Art Studio and Garden Tour
2048 Ridgecrest Place, Escondido (10 - 4 both days)

Jeff...You find some really neat ART !
Now that would be a really special treat on Mother's Day (for me, that is.)
Jeff What an interesting video!!! A perfect Mother's Day gift!

Jeff, very interesting video, I would love to see that done in person.
But somehow I don't think I would want to get up in the middle of the night and come face to face with the piece in the top picture :)
How far is Escondido from Long Beach? It is just the kind of thing I delight in. I am friendly with a couple of long pipe glass blowers and the infinite range of their creations faxcinating. Own a significant collection of art glass too.
Robert - well it's one of my passions, and it ties in nicely with our art colelcting and the art gallery we used to own for 3 years back in Boston.
Margaret - it is a great place to visit, and the owners are wonderful
Hannah - we'll likely buy a few things as we always do.
George - I have a picture of a mask you would like even better, then. NOT. LOL
Maya - I would say about 2 or maybe 2.5 hours. It's not far off the 78 freeway east from the 5 in North County. Worth a trip IMO.
Jeff
Very cool post Jeff... I really enjoyed the video. I love glass work.
