The Cardiff Kook is all dressed up this weekend in celebration of the Labor Day Weekend. Take a look!
The Cardiff Kook has gained some notoriety in the area since the surfing statue was installed in Cardiff several years ago, as it is often decorated to fit with the current holiday or in other ways depending on the whims of the locals who delight in dressing it up.
The Cardiff Kook celebrated the Royal Wedding some time ago, and just recently was all dressed up in the most elaborate setting yet - with a pterodactyl swooping down on the status. The Cardiff Kook even has his own website that captures all the fun over the last few years.

It’s all great fun, although not everyone agrees with the statue’s presence to begin with, or the fun that area folks are having with the decorations.

Jeff - I know this is hard to believe as I'm always working or doing something productive, but this weekend I had a few chances to relax and just enjoy being with friends. I forgot how great it was to have a good time! I really have to do this more often! Hope you are enjoying your holiday and not working all weekend either!

Hi Jeff, I think it is cool that the kinds took over this sculpture. They didn't like it much originally but sure do seem to be having fun with it with all the different way they dress it up. It has become a cultural icon and I hope they continue to customize it to suit their tastes. It adds a lot of local flavor.
