Rancho Santa Fe Luxury Homes at Cielo
Rancho Santa Fe is the most expensive community in San Diego County. Known for large estates, numerous gate-guarded private communities, exclusive golf courses and beautiful countryside, Rancho Santa Fe homes offer a lifestyle coveted by many yet afforded only a few. Cielo is one such neighborhood - a gated village on one of the highest points in the area, with some elevations around 1400 feet.
Because of the elevations, views extend as far as downtown San Diego and Coronado Bay; eastward you can easily see mountains more than 30 miles away, and facing west, dramatic sunsets and the ocean At the base of the hill, before you reach the gates, is the retail and business heart of the community. CieloVillage consists of almost 51,000 SF of office, retail and restaurant space, in the style of an Italian village with a piazza and fountain. Much of the space has been rented and tenants are due to start moving in soon. There will be an upscale food market, and several high-end boutiques, as well as office space. The Gate House is a 24-hour guarded entrance off Del Dios Highway, with state of the art security system, providing the utmost in security and privacy for residents.
Cielo Park, covering about 1 ½ acres offers a basketball court, sand volleyball, a climbing wall, picnic pavilion, and a play field. Club Cielo, for residents only, is an 8000 SF facility with multiple entertainment areas, catering kitchen, a fitness center, shower and locker rooms, swimming pool and spa, children's pool and play area and two tennis courts.
At the current time there are no new homes under construction that are available in this Rancho Santa Fe community (buyers have purchased lots and are building). Rancho Santa Fe buyers interested in Cielo homes do have some choices, however. There are 19 home sites currently available for building a custom estate home on the hillside and at the peak, These range in price from $625,000 to $4.5 million (the last a bulk sale of 9 lots); sites range from 1 - 7 acres, with varying views.
There are 19 detached homes for sale at Cielo at of November 2007. Rancho Santa Fe homes at Cielo range in size from around 4100 SF up to almost 9100 SF, with 3 to 6 bedrooms and 3.5 to 7 baths. Prices for these resale homes start at $2,190,000, with the most expensive property (and the largest) at a little over $12 million. However, some of these homes have been completed recently and never lived in. In addition, there will be a number of new home sites coming available in early 2008 ranging in price from around $900,000 (for 1 - 3 acres), some with amazing views. High end buyers seeking an estate home with extraordinary views in a private and secure setting will find the best at Cielo, in Rancho Santa Fe. |

I live here in Cielo, and I just came across this little blog, and it's great. Even though there were a few typos and grammatical errors. I won't hold it against you. Hahaha.
Brittney - thanks. I am curious what you think about the community, Obviously this information is dated and has not been updated. Seems the Village is just not getting developed as anticipated. And I think the pricing on properties and land has moderated a bit.

Jeff, I agree. Though consruction and what not is never on time. I think once it is finished it will be a bit more neighborhood friendly in the area. As far as pricing goes, you're right about that. My house has actually gone down about $500k in its worth since about 2007, when it was at its peak (I'm guessing it was around then, I'm not 100% on that though).
Jeff - Any recent lot sales? If so, can you give us an idea of sales prices? Much appreciated!
