It’s common for buyers in Carlsbad to seek more space in a single family detached home. And for many buyers, a 4-bedroom house is ideal and meets the needs for extra space which can include:

Additional Guest Space

1 or more Home Offices

Multigenerational Living


Carlsbad 4-bedroom home for sale


The supply of single family detached homes remains tight in Carlsbad, and has been for some time (read the April 2017 Carlsbad Real Estate Market Report for more details). Indeed, at this time based on the rate of sales this year we have 1.5 months of inventory of single family detached homes with 4-bedrooms based on the current rate of sales, a decline since I wrote about this market segment a few months ago.


The good news is there are more 4 bedroom homes for sale in Carlsbad than a couple of months ago.


Currently Carlsbad buyers who want a 4-bedroom home will find 63 single family detached homes for sale in Carlsbad in a variety of prices and sizes, from $749,900 for a 2,044 SF home to $4,790,000 for a beautiful 6,000 SF home built in 2004 on the 14th fairway of the famed Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in La Costa – this home was listed in 2016 for sale but did not sell and the price has been reduced.


Those interested in a single story home have limited choices, with only 9 of these Carlsbad homes for sale being single story.


4-bedroom Carlsbad home


Whether you want an older or a brand new 4-bedroom home in Carlsbad, there are options. Of the current listings homes range in age from 1960 to brand new (built 2017), although new homes are limited. That said, 10 of these listings have been built in the last 10 years, with 2 that are brand new.


As of this article the 4 bedroom home inventory comprises almost 37% of the current listing inventory of Carlsbad single family detached homes.


Sales of 4 bedroom homes in 2017 year-to-date in Carlsbad have been pretty brisk, with 207 sales, on the market an average of 41 days. Sales prices ranged from $618,000 to $3,500,000 (average price was $1,030,098; median was $950K).


Currently there are 80 4-bedroom Carlsbad homes in pending status (these homes have been on the market for 30 days on average), at list prices ranging from $599,000 to $5,095,000.
