39th Annual Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach 2018 May 19 - 20

Coming Next Weekend – 39th Annual Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach 2018

The very popular music festival, Fiesta del Sol, is coming soon in Solana Beach. Would you like something fun to do next weekend?

Fiesta del Sol will be held on Saturday and Sunday May 19 and May 20 at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach, just west of the downtown area and the Coast Road. [check out their Facebook page - click on photo to the right]

The 39th annual Fiesta del Sol is one of the more popular outdoor festivals in our area, and in a great location, so you can expect about 50,000 to attend.

Fiesta del Sol is a 2-day festival of fun, music, food (20+ vendors), abundant entertainment and shopping, arts and crafts exhibits, and kids’ zone (rides, activities, games, bounce house and slide, face painting), sponsored by the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce, the City of Solana Beach, and no doubt the best live music venue around since 1974, The BellyUp Tavern in the Cedros District of Solana Beach

Fletcher Cove in Solana BeachHopefully the sun will make an appearance, but it’s May Gray time so who knows. But given the fun this festival provides, who really cares?!

Music-wise, there are some excellent performers appearing on stage throughout the festival, in addition to an “unplugged stage” to enjoy a number of the area’s favorite local bands.

The Solana Beach Fiesta del Sol is a great time for kids and adults alike, by all reports. So don’t forget to put it on YOUR calendar for a week from now, Saturday and Sunday, May 19th and 20th.

Fiesta del Sol is free so there is no excuse to stay away unless you have something better to do. Consider taking the Coaster to avoid the parking challenges – the Solana Beach train station is just a couple of blocks from Fletcher Cove on the east side of the Coast Road.

Solana BeachAre you interested in living in the Solana Beach community with the Fiesta del Sol, beaches, bountiful dining and shopping, plus the Del Mar Fairgrounds (with the San Diego County Fair) nearby?

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS It sounds like fun and the price is right. As a native, I have always referred to that road as the Coast Highway (Pacific Coast Highway, South Coasy Highway, or just THE Coast Highway). You aren't trying to rename it, are you?

An d as for May Gray, I had the windows open for our mini heat wave last week, but had to close them because it was getting downright cold. I know people in other parts of the country don't understand our aversion to temps below 50.

Hi Bill Roberts

I have heard it called all sorts of things. Coast Road, PCH, Coast Highway, the 101.

And you're right about our temps. Chilly and kinda damp here on the coast and real gray, but that's OK.

Wow Jeff, I need to get out to your area this year and see my friend Suzanne and also to meet you and make it to the Ponseidon on the beach.

How did I forget The 101? Many years ago (it seems to be about 100 or so) a trip down the 101 from L.A. was an all day thing. Of course, this was before the I-5 was built.

BTW it is also California State Route 1

I have been to small town festivals without headliner stars and the musicianship is truly outstanding and worth your time.

Chris Ann Cleland  - well I am not big on crowds anymore, but other than that...

George Souto  - I doubt attendees will be disappointed in any way.
