Carlsbad Village Faire 2018 is November 4th in Carlsbad
Fall events in Carlsbad are plentiful – we’ve already had the popular Oktoberfest and the Super Hero Obstacle Race this past weekend, the Carlsbad Pumpkon Patch and Corn Maze are open, with the Pumpkin Plunge coming on the 20th – and it’s almost time for one of arts and crafts lovers’ favorite fairs during the year, the Carlsbad Village Faire.
It’s Sunday November 4th, just a month from now.
The 2018 Annual Carlsbad Village Faire takes over downtown Carlsbad Village, on the north side of Carlsbad Village Drive along State Street and Grand Avenue, and on neighboring streets, covering roughly a 14-block area. It’s just like mobile mall!!
The Carlsbad Village Faire is reportedly the largest 1-day outdoor street fair in the country, attracting around 100,000 attendees. Arts and crafts lovers know this fair takes place twice a year, in May and November.
The 2018 Carlsbad Village Faire, in its 44th year, will open at 8 am and lasts until 4 pm. I hate to mention the approaching holidays, but they are, and so you can experience some great shopping opportunities, with more than 800 vendors offering just about anything you can imagine! Just imagine – home accessories and furnishings, clothing, art, antiques, plants, household products, and so much more.
You certainly won’t get hungry at the Carlsbad Village Faire, with more than 50 booths of all sorts of food (e.g., Hawaiian, Thai). There will be plenty of live music, as well as the always-popular Rotary Club of Carlsbad traditional beer and wine garden with live bands and large screen TV.
A more-than-25-year tradition continues with the Kiwanis Club’s popular pancake breakfast at the Train Depot, just a short distance from the heart of the Village Faire. You can enjoy the breakfast between 7 am and 12 noon, with sausages, pancakes, orange juice and coffee.
There will be plenty for kids to enjoy, too, including a rock climbing wall, a bounce house, a super slide, face painting, and arts and crafts activities.
If you actually get tired of the Carlsbad Village Faire, there are abundant shops and restaurants along State Street, Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive to explore throughout the day. Plus our beautiful Carlsbad beaches are only a couple of blocks away, too!
Given the popularity of this event you can expect parking will be a challenge (remember, parking is all FREE in Carlsbad Village). A great alternative is to use one of the 2 FREE shuttles. The shuttles run from the northwest corner of Sears at The Shoppes at Carlsbad (formerly the Westfield Mall) near the 78 and El Camino Real, and from the Poinsettia Coaster Station on Avenida Encinas (go north from Poinsettia Lane off the 5 freeway). Shuttles will run every 15 minutes.
There is also handicapped parking at the Visitors Center (the Train Depot) and the Village Faire shopping center close to all the action.
Don’t miss one of North San Diego County's biggest and best outdoor one-day fairs Sunday, November 5th in Carlsbad Village – fall is a beautiful season at the beach in Carlsbad, and the Carlsbad Village Faire 2018 promises to be another winner following decades of success.
