San Diego Restaurant Week 2020

January 19 - 26

The New Year is here and foodies will again be thrilled the annual San Diego Restaurant Week is around the corner. Food lovers in our area are particularly lucky since San Diego Restaurant Week takes place twice a year!

San Diego’s Restaurant Week 2020 starts Sunday January 19th and runs through Sunday the 26th. San Diegans can feast on a wide range of food offerings at great prices at more than 180 restaurants all over San Diego!

Argyle Restaurant in CarlsbadRestaurant Week in San Diego means reduced prices on fixed price menus at lunch, brunch (some places do not include brunch) and dinner covering a broad geographic area - downtown to inland, and northward to our coastal cities.

Lunch prices range from $10 to $25 for 2 courses; dinner pricing with 3 courses varies from $20 to $60.

New this year is the option for restaurants to custom tailor their offerings for Restaurant Week. For example they can offer diners a selection 3 items (e.g., wine, an entrée and dessert) instead of having 3 courses at dinner. That means more ways to enjoy what each restaurant has to offer (how each restaurant handles Restaurant Week will vary).

The 2020 San Diego Restaurant week is an opportunity to check out the higher-end eateries you might not ordinarily dine at, and check out other restaurant you’ve heard about but haven’t explored.

Some of the restaurants during Restaurant Week are sharing their recipes on the Restaurant Week website.

You are likely to find plenty of options near where you live, or travel a bit further to explore. I found 4 restaurants alone in Carlsbad to enjoy during San Diego Restaurant Week, including some of my favorites, the Argyle Steakhouse in Carlsbad at the Aviara Country Club (photo - above right), and Cicciotti’s Trattoria Italiana and Seafood in Carlsbad Village.

Taking part in Restaurant Week in San Diego is easy. Just visit restaurants that intrigue you and take advantage of fine dining and great prices. No tickets or passes are needed.

It always makes sense to make reservations, especially for dinner and on the weekend, since this is such a popular event. Better to be safe than having to stand in line or find out there is no room. Some restaurants will offer Open Table reservations directly from the Restaurant Week website.

So plan some lunches or dinners out, then just bring your wallet and a good appetite!

This sounds like an amazing event. One could really enjoy a few good meals at an amazing price point. Which restaurants would be your choice to go to?

Hi Laura Filip

Restaurant Week is very popular and we have gone to several restaurants. I particularly like the Argyle in Carlsbad for lunch and Cicciotti's for dinners. 333 Pacific in Oceanside has great food and views of the ocean and pier. Perhaps we will explore some other places this year.

I love Restaurant Weeks, it's such a great way to check out places you wouldn't normally go and try something new.

Hi Jeff,  This sounds like a fantastic event - I find myself wishing I had another reason to go to San Diego.  It's a long trip from Wisconsin just for brunch.
