Win a Prize in Carlsbad Village for National Farmers’ Market Week 2020

August 2 - 8 is National Farmers’ Market Week 2020

Win a Prize in Carlsbad via Instragram

State Street Farmers' Market plants for saleAugust 2nd through the 8th is National Farmers' Market Week. And you could win a terrific prize here in Carlsbad. Read on to learn how.

Having lived in New England for many years, moving to Carlsbad in 2005, I have truly appreciated being able to buy fresh produce and more at local farmers' markets weekly, and year round.

We certainly had farmers’ market in the Boston area, but they were not as prevalent as they are where I live in SoCal, as least when we lived there, and were only held for a few months during the year…for obvious reasons!!

The State Street Farmers' Market takes place every Wednesday on State Street in Carlsbad Village, from 3 to 6 pm (to 7 pm during the daylight saving time period), and has a great selection of produce, and more.

Here’s a link to more information about the State Street Farmers’ Market, the 40+ vendors, and the modifications that were made to comply with state and county recommendations during the pandemic.

tate Street Farmers' Market peppersTo celebrate National Farmers’ Market Week, and almost 26 years serving Carlsbad, the Carlsbad Village Association is sponsoring a contest with some great prizes.

So here are the prizes from a random drawing…3 large farmers' market bags valued at $75, and 10 mini farmers' market bags, a $20 value. All will offer a range of products that are sure to please.

For a chance to win one of these edible prizes, all you have to do is head over to the Carlsbad Village Instagram page. Then, just follow the contest rules - they're easy (contest is open until August 8th) and you could be a winner.

Don't forget to support our local farmers and artisans, and visit the State Street Farmers’ Market next week on Wednesday August 5th, and every week for a great selection of fresh produce and so much more.

Fun stuff. I certainly enjoy our farmer's markets too. If we had them in The Bay Area, I never saw them. Bit since 2003, I've been loving them here...and all the roadside stands which include fresh cut flowers. Thanks for the info Jeff Dowler, CRS

Morning Jeff.

I had bell pepper steak with rice last night, tasty.  Still can't get enough tomatoes.

Hello Jeff - it's quite true that many of us(especially in Southern California) can get a bit used to the year-round appeal of many things in life so this is a good reminder of the importance of farmers markets.  As a quality of life issue as well as a necessity for residents of communities as well as vendors.

I had no idea that this National Farmers Market week was coming up in August.  I was at our local Carpinteria market yesterday.  They had beautiful heirlooms and the strawberries were superb. A

Hi Jeff... what a fun contest. Is this something Carlsbad does each year? I don't remember you writing about it previously.

Jeff I am sure they will have several entries in there contest.  We have not had as many Farmer's Market's open up this year as in years past because of COVID-19, but I enjoy the produce from those that are open.
