Yep, these are some scary times here in Carlsbad, California, and nearby too.
It's all over the media, and it's visible just about any place you drive.
Halloween is just around the corner, and once again there are a boatload of things to do to enjoy our scariest holiday.

Here in Carlsbad we have our very own House of Horror at 6994 Blue Orchid Lane, for the 3rd year in a row. There are all kinds of scary tales about happenings in this House of Horror. Check it out Halloween Night from 7 until 11 PM. You can visit the website too, Carlsbad House of Horrors.
And at Legoland you can enjoy Brick or Treat today and tomorrow from 10 am until 5 pm. There are costume contest for kids and parents, and safe trick or treating along Brick-or-Treat Trail (with, of course, a lego theme, lots of candy and a bunch of surprises). There is a 6 foot wide LEGO pumpkin (with more than 77,000 bricks) as well as a scavenger hunt. Visit the Legoland California website for more details.
In next door Encinitas there will be a Safe Trick of Treat at "Pumpkin Lane" Halloween Nightfrom 5 - 8 pm. The event takes place in downtown Encinitas along Route 101, with many local merchants participating by handing out goodies of their own choosing, with lots of fun and games along the way. The Lumberyard will host an arts and crafts center and game area.

The big event, once again, is at the Del Mar Scaregrounds (for the 11th year in a row) with the Scream Zone, open every night now until November 1. There are three options - The Haunted Hayride, the House of Horror, and The Chamber.
Prices are $27.99 for all three haunts, $17.99 for two (The Chamber Plus one of the others), and $14.99 for either the House of Horror OR the Haunted Hayride. Want to get scared? Stop by The Scream Zone in Del Mar.
Have a safe and fun Halloween!

Sounds like a ton of fun. You probably never have to deal with the rain on Halloween like we Seattleites do most years.
Jeff - Your area has tons of things to do! How do you ever sleep??
Jeff....I hope everyone has a Safe & Happy Halloween.
Jeff, one of the local theme parks has put together a haunted house this year, and it is suppose to be outstanding. It is so good that it is not a good idea for anyone with a heart problem to go through it :) :) :)
Colleen - so true. But I remember having snow on e Halloween when I lived in Boston, VERY freaky. And in Mpls. the kids had to wear parkas one year becuase it was below 30. I'll take CA.
Jeff
Linda - I don't, at least not as much as I would like sometimes. SOOO nice to hear from you. I hope you are doing well.
Jeff
Jeff, these Halloween scary events are such fun for the kiddos, and you've listed a bunch.
