Carlsbad Real Estate News and Views: Walkable Neighborhood Series – Real Estate in Upscale, Affluent La Jolla Village

Here's the REAL scoop on living in Carlsbad ~ beaches, things to do, places to eat, community events, and of course neighborhoods, homes and the Carlsbad real estate market in general, including surrounding communities like Encinitas, Cardiff, San Marcos, Oceanside, Solana Beach and Del Mar.

Walkable Neighborhood Series – Real Estate in Upscale, Affluent La Jolla Village

La Jolla Cove at la Jolla, California - Jeff DowlerLa Jolla, often referred to as "the jewel," is a beautiful community along the coast just north of San Diego. Many homes are clustered along the coastline, or on the hills (which remind many of some of the Mediterranean towns in France and Italy overlooking the sea) with spectacular ocean and coastal views.

Because of its location along the Pacific, the views and the types of homes built there, La Jolla remains one of San Diego's most expensive, and exclusive, communities with a median home price in the last 6 months of $1.5 million (the average price was a little over $2 million).

La Jolla Village is an upscale town of high-end boutiques, galleries, day spas, jewelry stores, furniture and home furnishings, several hotels, and dining with wonderful views of La Jolla Cove and the ocean beyond. To the south you will find other popular seaside areas of Windansea and Bird Rock, which are more casual and residential, but no less expensive.

Community park in La Jolla overlooking the ocean - Jeff Dowler

La Jolla Village is popular with residents and visitors alike for the high end shopping along Prospect Avenue, the many dining possibilities with ocean views, a wonderful community park overlooking the sea, and an overall feeling of affluence and the good life. Of course one can enjoy it even if you can't afford to live here. And the views are pretty amazing.

Another great community post. More great beach shots too, and those condos/townhomes look appealing. I hope you're getting lots of business from these posts.
